Dr. Brūs Layson is a clinical leader, educator, and patient advocate dedicated to elevating the standard of care and professional sustainability of Physical Therapy. As the founder of Advocate Physical Therapy, Brūs led his team to earn the 2025 Ascend Practice of the Year Award and 2026 Best of Helena: Physical Therapy Clinic. a testament to the highly specialized, multi-disciplinary environment he has cultivated.

Clinical Excellence & Systems-Based Care

Brūs brings a refined, systems-based approach to patient care, navigating the complexities of the neuro-orthopedic overlap. His clinical expertise spans several high-level domains, including:

Concussion & Vestibular Dysfunction: Utilizing objective diagnostic frameworks for complex recovery.

Chronic Pain Management: Integrating advanced manual techniques with modern neurobiology.

Dry Needling: Teaching the integration of dry needling techniques within a comprehensive rehabilitative model.

His approach ensures that clinicians move beyond isolated symptoms to treat the whole person, whether at the treatment table or through clinical reasoning in a classroom setting.

Advocacy & Professional Leadership

Brūs is a tireless advocate for both the profession and patients' access to care. An active member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), he has served as a Delegate and frequently testifies at legislative hearings to push state practice acts toward a full, top-of-scope level of practice.

His commitment to the future of the field is rooted in a mission to end professional burnout. By developing sustainable business models and structured career paths, Brūs is actively working to ensure that physical therapy remains a rewarding, long-term career for the next generation of providers.

Mentorship & Community Engagement

Education is the cornerstone of Brūs's professional identity. He provides mentorship at every level of the clinical spectrum:

Academic Support: Hosting PTA and DPT students for clinical rotations.

Post-Graduate Training: Mentoring Fellows-in-Training in advanced clinical reasoning.
